Ahead for the Cardinal...
The second-ranked Stanford Cardinal (10-1, 2-0 MPSF) resumes its season after a two-week hiatus for final exams by traveling to No. 6 San Diego State (11-6, 3-3 MPSF) for a Sunday matchup. Game time is set for noon. The Aztecs will host the Cardinal at the Ray and Joan Kroc Center before facing No. 18 Brown at 4 p.m. SDSU is led by senior utility Amber Prestegard, who has tallied 34 goals and 21 assists in 2003.

Previously on The Farm...
The Cardinal has not played in two weeks in order to finish final exams for the winter quarter. Stanford finished second at the UCSB Gaucho Invitational on March 9th, after posting 10 straight wins to open the season. Stanford faced UCLA in the title match, but in the Cardinal-Bruins third match of the 2003 season, UCLA posted its first win.

MPSF Honors...
Senior goalie Frank was tabbed the MPSF Mikasa Player of the Week after helping the Cardinal to wins over UCLA and UCSB. Frank collected 23 saves in the two games and held the Bruins to three goals and limited the Gauchos to two scores. On the season, Frank is averaging 8.0 saves per game and allowing only 2.9 goals per game.

Captains' Corner...
Seniors Julie Gardner and Nicole Huszcz are leading the Cardinal this year as co-captains. In their final campaign on The Farm, both will look to make their last season their best season. The tandem has combined for 15 of the team's 94 goals as the Cardinal earned its first ten wins. Gardner opened the season with a two goal showing against UC Davis and notched her second two-goal game against Hawai'i at the UCSB Invite on March 8th. Huszcz netted a season-high two goals against UC Santa Cruz in the opening game of the UCSB Invite on March 8th.

National Team File...
Frank and Brenda Villa, Stanford's other two players in their final collegiate campaign, spent their off-season with the National Team and helped the U.S. to a silver medal at the 2002 FINA Cup in Perth Australia this past December. Frank led all keepers in goals allowed average and saves while Villa led the tournament in scoring with nine goals. The duo matched up against their U.S. teammates last Saturday when Stanford fell to the National Team 7-3 at the Avery Aquatic Center.

Statistical File...
Every offensive member of the Stanford squad has notched at least one goal this season. The Cardinal has out-scored opponents by an average of 5.4 goals per game. Stanford has limited opponents to 35 goals this season (3.2 gpg) with the tough defense by both the field players and the goalkeepers. Frank and freshman Amanda Matuk have combined for 9.1 saves per game in the net.
